It’s the New Year – 2010! This is the time of year people make resolutions, vow to get back in shape, try something new, and refuel. It is no different here at FBC. Beginning Sunday, January 17th, our church family will begin a little “BODY BUILDING” of our own!
For two separate 6-week sessions, our church will try on a new and exciting look with our Sunday evening worship. The entire church will meet together from 6:00 – 6:15 for a time of praise led by the Chapel Choir. Individuals will then leave for their small group sessions, or “tracks”. You will remain in this track for the entire six weeks session. There are a variety of “tracks” offered for individuals to join……a little bit of something for everyone. Once you are in your track meeting place, your group leader will share an interactive devotion with the group. All groups will participate in the same devotion. After the completion of the devotion, the group will finish up the hour with a discussion group, a lesson, an activity, a game, and a time of fellowship. Groups will dismiss at 7:00.
Our “Body Building” can accomplish many goals:
· Encourage more individuals to be a part of Sunday evening services
· Allow for generational mentoring
· Nurture new leaders in our family
· Reach non-churched friends and neighbors
· Accountability in small groups
· Teach new skills that can be used for Kingdom growth
· Give people a place to “belong”
Possible “Body Building” Tracks:
· Traditional Sermon
· Prayer Journaling (Learn to make or expand a prayer journal)
· Basketball and Bible Study (Pick-up basketball in the ROC)
· Worship Arts (Use sign and drama in worship)
· “The Way of the Carpenter” (Woodworking and carpentry)
· “Lily of the Valley” (Floral design)
